Based in Curitiba for the duration of the tour, we will arrange day trips to and into the
forest, and to other sites of special natural interest

Our recommendation is to spend a minimum of 10 days in the beautiful city
of Curitiba, state capital of Parana in the south of Brazil.
We can offer a choice of either 3 star or 5 star hotel accommodation.
During your stay you will visit the historic Graciosa Trail and enter the
rainforest. Depending on the time of year we can provide a magical train
journey from Curitiba down the 1000 meter mountainside to the coastal port
city of Paranagua.
Spend 2 or 3 days at the incredible Iguassu Falls.
Visit the State Park of Vila Velha and see its amazing rock formations and
the nearby Golden Lake.
Sample a variety of national and regional dishes

Curitiba has a lot to offer. In April 2006 it hosted the major United Nations' Bio-Diversity meetings, which
served to emphasise the city's tradition of environmental protection. The city stands about 1000 metres
above sea level, but is only an hour away from a picturesque bay, the Atlantic coastline and sandy beaches.
Gently rolling hills surround the city with small agricultural towns and villages within easy driving distance.
Visit rivers, waterfalls, photogenic towns (ask for recommendations).
The city of Curitiba itself is worth visiting in detail. There are several large parks and reserves just minutes
away from the historic town centre. Bars and restaurants are abundant and offer a broad range of culinary
delights - Italian, Brazilian, German, Indian food - the traditional Churrasco (BBQ), Fejoada and Barreada
meals that can't be missed - national wines and beers of international quality, and of course "caipirinha"
and "cachaça".
