RAE Tours to the Amazon are operated in the dry season
only - that is from June to November.
In 2010 we can take accept bookings on the following basis:
- 5-day Sampler or 17-day Immersion tours only*
- September and November only
- minimum groups of 6 people - maximum 8
* Immersion Tour is flexible ... from 10 days to 3 weeks duration

What to expect
We will meet at the airport on the morning of 28th August and then fly to Manaus before getting a flight to Tefe, 700 kms up river
where we will divide our time between the lodge and a river boat.
In the second week we will fly south to Mato Grosso state and into the swamps of the Pantanal. The mosquitoes here are
different but they will welcome you just as enthusiastically as those in the Amazon. The plan is to spend some time in the
company of jaguars as well as boating on the river.

During the two weeks you will see a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, insects and plants.
You will get to sample regional foods and tropical fruits and juices. You will experience local culture and get an understanding
of the issues faced by the the (indigenous and coboclo) people of the rainforest. You will feed mosquitoes while gaining survival
experience. And for those that want to improve their photography we will provide tips and advice.

So what next?
What we need to know is approximately how many people will participate on the tour.
At this stage there is no commitment – just an expression of interest.
We will then finalise the schedule as close as we can (without actually firming up the bookings) and calculate the costs more
accurately.
